There are millions of species on this earth. It is not possible to study about each of them in human lifetime. Classification makes it easy to study the organisms; so we classify organisms on the basis of certain common characters.

Give three examples of the range of variations that you see in life forms around you.
Answer 2
Three examples of the range of variations that we see in our life time
- Ants, cockroaches, spiders, houseflies, etc. All these insects look different from each other but they all belong to arthropoda.
- Humans, cats and dogs live in the same place but look different and all belong to mammalia.
- Wide variety of plants; ie from small grass to a big banyan tree.
